How to Clear the Binance App Cache
Why Clear the Binance App Cache
The Binance App continuously accumulates cache data during daily use. This cache includes K-line chart data, market snapshots, image resources, and various temporary files. Over time, cache files can take up hundreds of megabytes or more of storage space.
Clearing the cache provides three main benefits. First, it frees up phone storage space. For phones with limited storage capacity, recovering several hundred megabytes is quite significant. Second, clearing the cache can resolve app performance issues. When cache data becomes corrupted or incompatible with a new version, the app may experience page loading failures, display glitches, lag, or even crashes — clearing the cache often directly fixes these problems. Third, clearing the cache forces the app to reload the latest data, ensuring the market information and interface content you see are up to date.
Clearing the cache does not mean your account information will be lost. Cache is just temporary data — your login status, security settings, and transaction history are all stored on the server side.
Clearing Steps for Android and iOS
Android System Methods:
Method 1: Clear through system settings. Open phone "Settings" > "App Management" (or "Apps & Notifications") > find the Binance App in the app list > tap "Storage" or "Storage & Cache" > tap "Clear Cache." This operation only removes temporary cache files and won't delete your login information.
Method 2: Clear within the Binance App. Open the Binance App, go to "Profile" > "Settings" > "General" — some versions offer a "Clear Cache" option here. The advantage of this method is that you can clear the cache without leaving the app.
If the issue is more severe, you can choose "Clear Data" instead of "Clear Cache." Clearing data deletes all local storage information for the app, including your login status — essentially restoring the app to its freshly installed state. Before doing this, make sure you remember your account password and two-factor authentication information.
iOS System Methods:
Unlike Android, iOS doesn't provide a standalone "Clear Cache" option. If the Binance App doesn't have a built-in cache clearing feature, the only option is to uninstall the app and reinstall it. Download the App and reinstall — all cache will be automatically cleared. Before reinstalling, similarly ensure you can log back in with your account credentials and verification methods.
What to Expect After Clearing
The first time you open the app after clearing the cache, it may take a few extra seconds compared to usual, as the app needs to re-download and rebuild cache data. Charts like K-line graphs may need to reload historical data, while your watchlist and personalization settings are generally unaffected.
It's good practice to clear the cache periodically — once every month or two is sufficient. You don't need to do it daily; clearing too frequently actually increases the app's data download volume. If you encounter any abnormal app behavior, clearing the cache should be your first instinct — in many cases, it's quicker and more effective than uninstalling and reinstalling.
