How to Install Binance on a Huawei Phone
The Unique Situation for Huawei
Due to well-known reasons, newer Huawei phone models no longer come with Google Mobile Services (GMS) pre-installed, and therefore don't have the Google Play Store. Since the Binance App is not available in Huawei's AppGallery, Huawei users cannot download Binance directly from an app store like other Android users.
The good news is that Huawei phones running HarmonyOS are fully compatible with Android applications. You can install Binance by downloading the APK installer, and the user experience is identical to other Android phones. You just need to handle some additional permission settings during installation.
Complete APK Download and Installation Steps
Download the official APK installer
Open Huawei's built-in browser and visit the Binance official website, or go directly to the Download App page to get the Android APK installer. During download, the browser may display a security warning saying "This type of file can harm your device" — this is a generic system warning for all third-party APK files. Tap to confirm the download.
Disable Pure Mode
Huawei phones have a "Pure Mode" feature that, when enabled, only allows apps from Huawei's AppGallery and blocks all third-party APK installations. You'll need to disable it first: go to "Settings" > "Security" > "Pure Mode" (or search for "Pure Mode" in Settings), and turn it off. After installing Binance, you can decide whether to re-enable it.
Grant installation permissions
In "Settings" > "Security" > "More Security Settings" > "Install apps from external sources," find the browser you used (e.g., Huawei Browser) and enable the "Allow app installations" permission. If you received the download link through WeChat or another channel, you'll also need to enable this permission for that app.
Perform the installation
Open the "Files" app on your phone, navigate to the "Downloads" folder, and tap the downloaded APK file. The system will display the permissions the app requests — confirm and tap "Install." After a few seconds, the Binance App icon will appear on your home screen.
Post-Installation Optimization
To ensure the Binance App runs smoothly on your Huawei phone, we recommend the following settings.
Disable battery optimization restrictions. Huawei's power-saving policies can be quite aggressive and may automatically kill the Binance App in the background, preventing you from receiving trading notifications. Fix this by going to "Settings" > "Battery" > "App Launch," finding the Binance App, switching to "Manage Manually," and enabling "Auto-launch," "Secondary launch," and "Run in background."
Enable notification permissions. In "Settings" > "Notifications," find the Binance App and ensure notification permissions are enabled, allowing banners, lock screen notifications, and sound alerts. This way you won't miss important notifications about price movements and trade confirmations.
About future updates. Since the app wasn't installed from an app store, it won't update automatically. When a new version is released, the app will display an in-app update notification, and you can complete the download directly within the app. Alternatively, you can periodically visit the official website to download the latest APK for an overlay installation. Overlay installation doesn't require uninstalling the old version — your login status and settings will be preserved.
If you encounter an "App not installed" error during installation, it's usually caused by insufficient storage space. Go to "Settings" > "Storage" to check available space and ensure at least 500MB is free. Clear some unused apps or cache files and try the installation again.
