Binance Registration Guide: Email and Phone Number Sign-Up
Step-by-Step Email Registration
Binance is one of the world's largest cryptocurrency exchanges, with a massive user base and a wide variety of trading options. For newcomers to crypto, creating a Binance account is the very first step. Binance currently offers two main registration methods: email and phone number. Both are straightforward and can be completed in just a few minutes.
Let's start with email registration. Go to the Binance official website, where you'll see a prominent sign-up button on the homepage. After clicking "Register," the default page is for email registration. Enter your regularly used email address — international providers like Gmail and Outlook are recommended for better reliability and fewer issues receiving verification codes. Chinese email services like QQ Mail and 163 Mail also work, though occasional delays may occur.
After entering your email, set a strong password. Binance requires passwords to be at least 8 characters long and must include uppercase letters, lowercase letters, and numbers. Avoid reusing passwords from other platforms, and don't use easily guessable combinations like birthdays or phone numbers. After setting your password, if you have a referral code, be sure to enter it in the referral code field to enjoy a permanent trading fee discount.
After clicking "Create Account," the system sends a verification email containing a 6-digit code. Find the email in your inbox and enter the code. Note that verification codes are time-sensitive, typically valid for 30 minutes — if it expires, you can click to resend.
Step-by-Step Phone Number Registration
If you prefer to register with your phone number, that works just as well. At the top of the registration page, switch to the "Phone Number" tab. Select your country code — mainland China users select +86 — then enter your phone number. You'll also need to set a password and enter a referral code.
After clicking register, you'll receive an SMS with a verification code. Enter the code in the corresponding field and click confirm to complete the basic registration process. The advantage of phone registration is that you can log in directly with your phone number and password, and receiving verification codes is more convenient.
However, note that phone numbers from certain regions may occasionally not receive SMS verification codes. If you've waited more than a minute without receiving one, try clicking resend. If multiple attempts fail, consider switching to email registration instead.
Important Settings After Registration
Regardless of whether you registered with email or phone, it's recommended to do the following immediately after registration.
First, bind an additional verification method. If you registered with email, bind your phone number; if you registered with phone, bind your email. This enhances account security and makes password recovery easier.
Second, enable Google Authenticator (2FA). This is one of the most effective ways to protect your account. Download the Google Authenticator app on your phone, then scan the QR code in Binance's security settings to link it. Each login will require a dynamic verification code in addition to your password, so even if your password is compromised, others cannot access your account.
Third, complete KYC identity verification as soon as possible. While you can browse market data without verification, trading, deposits, and withdrawals all require identity verification. Binance's identity verification has two tiers — basic and advanced. The higher the tier you complete, the more features and higher limits you'll have access to.
Fourth, if you prefer using your phone, you can download the App. Binance's mobile experience is excellent and supports nearly all features including market viewing, spot trading, and futures trading.
If you encounter any issues during registration, you can get help through the live chat in the bottom-right corner of the Binance website, which supports Chinese and responds quickly. The entire registration process normally takes less than 5 minutes — it's very convenient.
