Where to Enter a Binance Referral Code and Get Fee Discounts

What Is a Binance Referral Code and What Does It Do

A Binance referral code, also called an invitation code or Referral Code, is a core element of Binance's referral rewards program. Simply put, every Binance user has their own unique referral code. When a new user enters a referral code during registration, both the new user and the referrer receive trading fee discounts or commission rebates.

The exact discount depends on the referrer's level and settings. Generally, registering with a referral code gives you a 10% to 20% rebate on trading fees. Don't underestimate this — if you trade on Binance long-term, the accumulated fee savings can be substantial. For example, a user with a monthly trading volume of 100,000 USDT at a spot fee rate of 0.1% pays 100 USDT in fees per month. A 20% rebate saves 20 USDT monthly, which adds up to 240 USDT per year.

It's important to note that referral codes can only be entered during registration — they cannot be added after the account is created. So if you haven't registered on Binance yet, make sure to enter a referral code when you sign up.

Where to Enter the Referral Code During Registration

The referral code field is easy to find. On the Binance official registration page, after entering your email (or phone number) and password, there's a "Referral ID (Optional)" input field below the password field. Some versions of the page may display it as "Referral ID (Optional)."

If you don't see this field on the registration page, look for a "Have a referral?" or similar expandable link — clicking it will reveal the referral code input field.

Registering on the mobile App is similar. Find the referral code or invitation code input field at the bottom of the registration form and enter it there.

Another option is to register directly through a referral link. If you opened the registration page through a shared link, the referral code is already pre-filled — you can verify it in the input field. Registering through a referral link and manually entering a referral code have the same effect.

Can I Add a Referral Code After Registration?

Unfortunately, if you've already completed registration but forgot to enter a referral code, it cannot be added afterward. Binance's system does not support binding a referral relationship after registration is complete.

In this situation, if your account hasn't made any trades or deposits, you could consider re-registering with a different email or phone number and entering the referral code on the new account. However, if you've already completed identity verification, made deposits, or traded, re-registering becomes much more complicated since the same ID document can only verify one Binance account.

So once again — make sure to enter your referral code at the time of registration.

Other Ways to Reduce Trading Fees

Besides referral codes, Binance offers other ways to lower trading fees.

The first is holding BNB (Binance Coin) and enabling BNB fee deduction. After turning on "Use BNB to Pay Fees" in your trading settings, all trading fees are paid in BNB with a 25% discount. This discount stacks with the referral code discount.

The second is upgrading your VIP level. Binance assigns VIP levels based on your 30-day trading volume and BNB holdings — the higher the level, the lower the fee rate. Regular users (VIP 0) pay 0.1% for spot trading, VIP 1 drops to 0.09%, VIP 2 to 0.08%, and so on. Of course, reaching higher VIP levels requires substantial trading volume.

The third is participating in Binance's periodic fee promotions. Binance frequently runs zero-fee campaigns for specific trading pairs or time periods. Follow Binance's announcements and social media to stay informed about these offers.

By combining referral code discounts, BNB fee deduction, and VIP level benefits, you can bring your trading fees down to very low levels. For long-term traders, these seemingly small savings add up to a significant amount over time.
