How to Use the Binance Web3 Wallet

What Is the Binance Web3 Wallet

The Binance Web3 Wallet is a decentralized wallet built into the Binance App, letting you interact directly with various on-chain DApps without installing a separate wallet application (like MetaMask). It supports multiple major blockchains including BNB Chain, Ethereum, Polygon, Arbitrum, Solana, and more, covering the most active networks in the current Web3 ecosystem.

Unlike a traditional centralized exchange account, the Web3 wallet is self-custodial, meaning you control your own private keys. Binance uses MPC (Multi-Party Computation) technology to simplify key management by splitting the private key into three parts stored separately on your device, Binance's servers, and your cloud backup — no need to memorize 12 or 24 seed words.

The advantage of the Binance Web3 Wallet lies in its deep integration with the Binance exchange. You can conveniently transfer assets between your centralized account and Web3 wallet, enjoying a one-stop trading and DeFi experience. If you don't have the Binance App yet, you can download the App to try this feature.

Creation and Basic Operations

Creating the Web3 Wallet. Open the Binance App and find the "Web3" entry in the bottom navigation or on the home page. Tap it and follow the prompts to create a wallet. During creation, you'll need to set up cloud backup to ensure your private key is recoverable — this step is very important, so be sure to complete it.

Transferring assets from your Binance account. After creating the wallet, you can transfer assets from your centralized Binance account to the Web3 wallet. Go to the Web3 wallet page, tap "Receive" or "Transfer In," select transfer from Binance account, enter the amount, and choose the target network. This process typically completes in seconds to minutes and is fee-free.

Browsing and using DApps. The Binance Web3 wallet includes a built-in DApp browser for directly accessing various decentralized applications. In the "Discover" page, you'll find popular DApps organized by category (DeFi, NFT, GameFi, etc.). Tap any DApp to enter, and the wallet connects automatically without manual authorization.

Cross-chain swaps. The Web3 wallet supports cross-chain swap functionality, allowing you to exchange tokens directly between different blockchains without manual bridging. For example, you can directly swap BNB on BNB Chain for ETH on Ethereum — the system handles the cross-chain bridging process automatically.

Security Considerations

Using a Web3 wallet means you're interacting directly with the decentralized world, where security risks are higher than using a centralized exchange. Extra caution is required.

Back up your recovery information. The cloud backup during wallet creation must be completed, and make sure your cloud account is secure. If you lose your device without a backup, you may permanently lose access to your wallet assets.

Be cautious with contract approvals. When using DApps, you'll frequently need to approve smart contracts to operate your tokens. Read the approval details carefully before authorizing, and confirm it's a legitimate project. Don't randomly click unknown links or approve suspicious DApps — malicious contracts could transfer your assets without your knowledge.

Regularly check and revoke approvals. After you're done with a DApp, if you no longer need it, it's recommended to check and revoke unused contract approvals using tools like Revoke.cash. This prevents previously approved contracts from being exploited in the future.

Don't store too many assets in the Web3 wallet. The Web3 wallet is better suited for daily on-chain interactions. Large amounts of assets should be kept in your centralized Binance account. Transfer only small amounts to the Web3 wallet when you need to use DApps, and transfer assets back when you're done.
